Burn Case Hair Transplantation
There are several reasons why you may have a burn mark or scar on your scalp. Maybe you had an injury, an accident. With hair transplant surgery, these scars on the scalp, beard or eyebrows can be closed. It is possible to treat this burned skin, in other words, scar tissue by removing hair follicles from your healthy donor area, but this treatment is more difficult than other hair transplantation treatments due to the reduced blood supply and support tissue level. Follicles taken from the donor area and transplanted into the scar or burn scar gradually grow over 12 months to hide the scar.
Burn hair transplantation is in a way a repair surgery and whether you are suitable for this repair depends on a number of factors. For example, if there is an inflammatory disease in the area, it is expected that the treatment will be completed and at least 1 year will pass before having this procedure. During this process, diseases such as lichen planopilaris , psoriasis and discoid lupus erythematosus should not be active.
There are also some scars that may mean that you are not a suitable candidate for this hair transplant. The scar that we call hypertrophic, that is, the scar that is too thick, limits the blood flow in order for the transplanted hair to grow adequately and function. Such a case should be evaluated.

How is Burn Hair Transplantation Done?
An insufficient blood supply can affect both the rate of hair growth and the chances of graft survival. The blood supply of scars on the scalp can vary considerably depending on their type, and therefore there is no guarantee that a hair transplant can completely hide the scar. That's why we use the FAT hair transplant technique in burn hair transplant. The healing effect of the stem cell gives a tremendous result in this damaged area. For FAT hair transplantation, some oil is first taken from the patient's body. After this oil is enriched with stem cells, it is injected into the scar or burned area. In this way, the strength of the insufficient blood supply is increased and the revascularization and revitalization of the region is ensured. After this stage, FUE hair transplantation is started. Grafts from the donor area are transplanted into the damaged area.

What to Consider After Burn Case Hair Transplantation?
- You can usually return home the same day.
- Major repairs can be made after 8 months at the earliest.
- As of the 3rd day after the surgery, you can start your desk job.
- The first wash is done on the 3rd day after the operation.
- Avoid ointments, lotions and other formulas for the first 2 weeks unless you are advised to use them.
- You can start sports 3 weeks after the operation.
If you experience hair loss in the treated area, do not worry. This is a completely normal part of the hair cycle and it will take some time before you see consistent growth. A 2014 study examining survival rates found that approximately 13 months after surgery, between 64 % and 95% of transplanted hair in scar repair survived.
